Passion can be discovered at any age.  In the case of Master singer Jane Maria, it was discovered at a very young age.  Jane was blessed with many things and from an early age growing up in China she could have pursued a career in modeling, business or a number of things at which she excelled.  However, Jane Maria had only one thing on her mind and this was her love of music. 

While completing undergraduate study at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), Jane was offered her Postgraduate Master training with a scholarship in Vocal & Opera at the Royal Northern College of Music, U.K.  An opportunity that recognized her amazing talent and something she could not afford to turn down.  Even though it took her away from home and all she knew Jane Maria’s focus and dedication left her with no alternative but to pursue her dream in a strange land.


After graduating, she worked throughout Europe as an opera soloist, Plying her trade, learning and fine-tuning her craft. In London, she studied with world celebrated soprano Nelly Miricioiu and Rosalind Anne Plowright OBE. Furthermore, following guidance from the outstanding vocal music educator Mariola Mainka in advanced vocal technique training in Germany, Jane won the honorable mention prize in the International Opera singing competition 2016 Opera Concorso Internazionale Ruoli Lirici in Rome, Italy. Recently, Jane Maria has been awarded the  2018 AGTO Global Outstanding Chinese award.  Years of dedication, focus and grafting in one of the toughest industries in the world to breakthrough in has fined tuned Jane Maria into the consummate performer and artist she has become today.


On the European stage, Jane Maria has sung the roles of Marjana (Chu Chin Chow), Adina (L’elisir d’amore) , Madame Butterfly (Madame Butterfly) , Mimì and Musetta (La Bohème),Countess Rosina Almaviva ( Le Nozze di Figaro ).  She has also performed Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Romilda (Serse), Lucia (The Rape of Lucretia), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and the title role in Lakmé in opera scenes. She was invited as a guest artist to sing in the London Week of Peace concert in Trafalgar Square and in the Great Elm Vocal Awards concert at Wigmore Hall.  Jane Maria also sang the title song for the film When The Sun Rises directed by Louis Papachristou.  Added to all of this Jane Maria performed as a special guest artist at 2018 AGTO Spring Festival Gala and 2018 World Council of Peoples for the United Nations (WCPUN) Spring Festival Gala held in L.A.


Jane Maria has sacrificed her life to the music and her pursuit of excellence.  In China, Jane Maria was in the premiere of Fei Jia Dang' s Love, a contemporary multi-media music theatre piece at the Hong Kong Fringe Club New Years concert, she appeared as an opera singer in Kubert Leung’s film Wonderful Times (where she sang the title song), She was invited as a guest artist to sing in the Ten Year commemorate concert at Hong Kong City Hall.  This was followed by a special performance In Beijing, as a guest artist, for the China Central Television (CCTV) production Beloved Motherland 2018 New Year's concert at the Beijing Exhibition Centre Theater.  Jane Maria has also performed with Henan Provence Television for their 2018 Spring Festival Gala.  All Impressive, but now Jane Maria is going a step further.  With her album almost complete she is about to venture into the lion’s den and establish herself in the UK.


In many ways, Jane Maria is coming full circle.  When she first started singing she was singing pop and contemporary music, she has often fused pop, dance and Rnb music with her passion for opera and classical music, working alongside DJ’s and artists and she is about to revisit this vibe when she launches herself in the UK.  Her album will be mostly classical but will contain some amazing fusions of classical and other genres.


Jane Maria is working to become one of the first Chinese artists to have true success in the UK charts.  Something she has been working her whole life to achieve and now she feels the time is right.  Get ready for the beauty and the grace, the power and the voice that is Jane Maria.
